About Us
The Humane Web Project is an investigative and advocacy initiative founded with the intention of exposing and combating the hidden networks of zoosadism and animal exploitation that have begun to thrive on social media networks and encrypted platforms. The online world has become a marketplace for cruelty where the most vulnerable among us are tortured, abused, exploited, trafficked for profit, influence and sexual gratification. We endeavor to make the digital world a safer place and cast a spotlight on these issues, identify perpetrators and drive accountability across social platforms, financial systems and legal institutions.
Founded by a small team of investigators and advocates with years of experience working to uncover and document animal abuse across digital spaces, The Humane Web Project aims to combine Open Source Intelligence, public education and journalism to expose and document these often overlooked industries that have begun to thrive on the internet, from crush rings to fake animal rescues to the distribution of abusive content for profit.
Collaboration
We have worked alongside law enforcement agencies and their consultants across the globe, providing data, intelligence and investigative assistance for a number of cases involving the abuse and exploitation of animals. We aspire to include as many legal professionals, prosecutors and policy makers as we possibly can in our work, in service of building a network with the foundational goal of influencing and empowering legislation. This includes closing legal loopholes and strengthening already existing laws, to creating newer legal frameworks that serve to minimize the exploitative industries of the online world.
Contacting Us
Were you to uncover incidents of animal abuse and exploitation online, we encourage you to contact us via our Tip Form. We can access the material in question, document and archive as needed and present it to the relevant authorities or appropriate partners. Even for instances of abuse that are encountered in the offline world, we would still like to know. While our primary focus concerns digital exploitation, we can facilitate the transfer of this information to the NGOs and legal professionals in our network who can best deal with each case as necessary.
